poetic unreason, the movie

PRESS RELEASE 6.10.2004

James D'Arcy and Nathalie Press join the cast of Poetic Unreason.

James D'Arcy replaces Purefoy who had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts. William Nunez is excited by the addition of James who "... is a tremendous young actor and looks remarkably like Robert did in his 20's." In order to keep the cast within the same age group, William has recast the part of Nancy Nicholson with Nathalie Press, the young actress garnering tremendous reviews for her lead role in My Summer of Love, which won first place in Endinborough Film Festival and slated for US release next month. With part of Laura Riding cast with Frances O'Connor, the main three roles are set for a Spring 2005 production.

William apologies for the delay in getting the production off the ground saying that the many commitments by the filmmakers and cast have made this project "tough, but there is finally some light at the end of tunnel." William adds "that it is minor miracle to get a film off the ground anyway."

William has just returned from London where he completed his casting, and he is close to announcing his casting choice for Beryl Pritchard and Geoffrey Phibbs as soon as the negotiations close.

Filming will take place in the brand new studio facilities Ciudad de la Luz in Alicante, Spain with a couple of weeks in Deya and London. The filmmakers are excited that they will be the second production at the new facilities which is state of the art and will provide a tremendous environment for the creative and technical team that is being assembled.

PRESS RELEASE 12.10.2003

Film-makers turn to war poet's love life

The love life of war poet Robert Graves is to be turned into a film.

British actor James Purefoy, star of A Knight's Tale and Resident Evil, will play the writer.

The film, Poetic Unreason, will centre on the 1920s menage a trois between Graves, his wife Nancy and mistress Laura Riding.

Graves eventually left England and moved to Majorca with Riding, an American writer. She was the inspiration behind some of his most famous works, including Goodbye To All That and I, Claudius.

Actress Frances O'Connor, who starred in Steven Spielberg's Artificial Intelligence: AI and co-starred with Purefoy in Mansfield Park, will play Riding.

The film, billed as "a tale of sexual jealousy and obsession", is due for release next year.

Lesley Manville, last seen in Mike Leigh's All Or Nothing, will play Graves's wife.
